Dear John,
On behalf of all of us at Reel Recovery, I want to thank you for your
generous donation of the Custom Built Xcalibur Fly Rod for sale at our
August 8, 2005 Wine Tasting/Auction. The event at Pesce Fresco, our first
major fund-raiser, was a wonderful success, attracting over 175 guests and
grossing almost $20,000 in total sales to benefit Reel Recovery. We are
thrilled with the results, helping us to continue to build our program for men
with cancer, and we extend our thanks to you for your generous support.
For your information, the rod was purchased for $500.
“Thank you everyone! The world at times is hard, but people just spending
time with me and caring was so helpful. This retreat was very powerful.”

As you know, the mission of Reel Recovery is to help men in the cancer
recovery process by introducing them to the healing powers of the sport of
fly-fishing, while providing a safe, supportive environment to explore their
personal experiences with others who share their stories. Because retreats
are provided at no cost to the participants, we depend solely on the
generosity of donors such as you, to be able to continue offering this
meaningful opportunity to more and more cancer survivors.
“This retreat was simply the best thing ever for me.”
